Spring Time at Mount Vernon

March 28, 2010

It brings me great joy to see life pushing through after a long cold winter.  About two inches of daffodil sprouts began to emerge in mid February.  It was a sign to me that hope was on its’ way.  It had been four months of looking at dead trees and grass. I never realized how much I enjoyed the greener seasons.  The temperatures were starting to reach into the 50′s and an occasional 60 degree mark.  It became evident that nature can’t be held back.  Just the slightest bit of encouragement brings out the breath life of mother nature. Here it is March and with the sun and rains, the flowers begin to bloom.

During the  70′s and 80′s, a family by the name of Webb lived here at Mount Vernon.  Mrs. Webb was a descendent of Germany.  The story goes that she yearned for her home area where she grew up.  She planted flowers of all kinds all over the property, that would bloom at different times of the year.  Mr. Webb built her flower beds made of river rock and worked  to make her feel more at home.  After Mrs. Webb passed away, the house was turned over to their daughter who later removed many of the flower beds.  Today flowers can be seen growing in the most unusual places in the yard. Each time I see one I thank Mrs. Webb for taking the time to plant them.  Because their color and beauty, has taken my breath away.

The Tennessee Version of Mount Vernon

February 22, 2010

For a house that was built in 1964, it hasn’t changed hands as often as one would think.  Only four families have maintained this property. A history that  describes this geniality and tranquil sanctuary.  Set up on a hill amongst an immense number of  mature trees,  the house with white tall columns  has the characteristics of  ”A Tennessee version of Mount Vernon”.

Enjoy your mornings while sitting outside on the balcony or on the back deck with a cup of your favorite brew while watching the wildlife. Or enjoying the balcony during one of the areas heart stopping thunderstorms as the thunder echos thru the nearby canyon.

This home isn’t for the “average” buyer.  It  has true character and is to only be enjoyed by one with discriminating taste.

At a asking price $279,900, this house is an investment that will give the buyer a profitable return in a very short time. This won’t last long.

2008 this home was appraised over $300,000. Due to the downfall of the economy, real estate has taken hit in price.

The only reason for sale,  the owners are planning to take an extensive sabbatical while sailing the east coast of the United States and the Virgin Islands.

All Offers Considered.
